Sandra Nickel has been listing and selling residential real estate for 40 years. She owns her own small company and has countless past LGBTQ clients.  Her Production Mgr, Billy Young, is a Gay man and in his 21st year with her company. Sandra has been interviewed as a Howard Brinton Star. She is one of only 270-plus agents nationwide—and only the third in Alabama—to have achieved this distinction. Sandra’s Hat Team has been listed among the top 300 in closed transaction sides by REALTOR Magazine. In addition to the CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) designation, she is also an ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative), SRES (Seniors Real Estate Specialist) and AHWD (At Home With Diversity). Her next education goal is the CIPS (Certified International Property Specialist). Sandra believes that professional education has contributed heavily to her success. Sandra serves as Rainmaker for her team, which is made up of 7 full-time members, 4 in production and 3 on the administrative side. Over the past few years, Sandra has devoted approximately 1000 hours per year to volunteer activities including historic preservation, affordable housing, community development in Montgomery’s less affluent areas, re- vitalization of the riverfront and downtown areas. In October 2002 she was recognized by the City’s mayor as a Lifetime Community Advocate. The Hat Team’s most recent public service success was that of collecting over 800 blankets for the homeless population of Montgomery. She serves on the Mid-Alabama Coalition for the Homeless, the Cloverdale Business Coalition and the Montgomery Coalition of Historic Districts. Her current board positions include the Capital City Club, Landmarks Foundation, Low Income Housing Coalition of Alabama and Montgomery Airport Authority. She and her husband, Jim, have lived in Montgomery since 1964. They have no living children but consider their two dogs “their kids.”
